Mawhinney's Butchers & Delicatessen in Newtownards is owned by Sam Jordan. Sam has been serving the customers of the Ards Peninsula for over 30 years. He began working at Mawhinney's as a schoolboy, then left school to learn his trade as a butcher.
Sam managed the shop for many years before becoming proprietor over 12 years ago, in which time he has spent much time and money in making the shop what it is today, a thriving business that supplies everything from tinned food, jams and sauces to pies, cooked meats as well as fresh meat and many more.
Sam takes heed of his customers needs and makes sure they get the best produce and service, which is why he makes every effort when buying for his business. Sam sources his suppliers locally and checks over every delivery personally to make sure they are of the very best quality. Shortly after he took over the business Brian Irvine joined him as manager and has been with Sam for 11 years and is more than capable of running things when Sam needs a well earned break. Four years ago Adam McBlain came to work for Sam and since has proven a valuable asset to the team.
Mawhinney's is situated in a superior location in the town of Newtownards. As well as boasting it's own customer carpark and is surrounded by excellent shops to cater for your every need and give the personal touch. |
