Sam started at Mawhinney's as a schoolboy, and went on to learn his trade as a butcher, then managed the shop for many years before becoming proprietor in 1996. Coming from a farming background has helped Sam in knowing the best cuts of meat for his shop.
As well as fresh meat we also have a wide range of pies, lasagnes, ready to eat meals, fresh vegetables, milk and bread. All suppliers are sourced locally and everything is checked over before leaving to make sure they are of the very best quality. Mawhinney's is situated in a superior location in the town of Newtownards.
